I’m a writer, educator and journalist based in Los Angeles.
Previously, I reported for the Asian Journal, a leading newspaper and news website for the Filipino American community. With more than nine years of experience, I have reported on a wide variety of beats including culture, policy, and all matters concerning the FilAm community and the broader AAPI community.
Since 2020, I am also an adjunct professor at my alma mater, Cal Poly Pomona, where I teach copyediting and reporting courses. As a journalism student at CPP, I took on the exciting role of research assistant for a published study on election polling. I was voted The Poly Post’s Most Valuable Writer in 2016.
Currently, I am pursuing my master’s degree in Communication & Leadership at Gonzaga University.
I live in Pasadena, California with my cat Daisy, a budding star on TikTok. I am also a self-described female film bro with very pretentious, alienating and correct opinions about cinema. My favorite film of all time is Robert Altman’s “The Long Goodbye,” closely followed by Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Conversation.” I enjoy the novels of Thomas Pynchon, Philip K. Dick, and Magda Szabó. I am a fervent objector to generative artificial intelligence, especially as it relates to writing and visual media.
